Will we leave a trace?
United Nations human rights diplomat Mohamad Safa resigned from his position on Sunday, claiming the international organization may soon use a nuclear weapon in Iran.
While the UN itself does not have nuclear weapons, members such as the U.S. or Israel could deploy nukes against Iran.
“I don’t think people understand the gravity of the situation as the UN is preparing for possible nuclear weapon use in Iran,” Safa wrote.
“I suspended my duties so as not to be part of or a witness to this crime against humanity, in an attempt to prevent a nuclear winter before it is too late.”
He urged humanity to take his warning “very seriously,” adding,
“It’s dangerous. Act now. Spread this message worldwide.
Take the streets. Protest for our humanity and future.
Only the people can stop it.
History will remember us.”
Well, if we are history, there will be no one left to remember us.
The Earth will re-green, ice ages will come and go, and eventually the sun will swallow it, leaving no trace of our madness, greatness, good and evil.
